| Thanks to Melinda Johnson for organizing a wonderful afternoon of fellowship at the shore in Virginia Beach. The weather in the early afternoon included intermittent downpours but these gave way to partial clearing. We talked and talked while enjoying a picnic lunch. It was great to meet spouses, children and babies in addition our familiar classmates. Let's do it again! Announcement #1 January 1, 2002 Announcement #2 April 18, 2002 Announcement #3 August 30, 2002 Rock & Roll Half-Marathon 13.1 miles, 7:00 am September 1, 2002 The race began at the Virginia Beach Pavilion, and progressed onto Pacific Avenue south and past Camp Pendleton, retraced to Atlantic Avenue northward, and finished at the south end of the Boardwalk. This event was a huge success, with a sold-out field of 15,000 runners.
